Siding & Exterior in Conroe and the Greater Houston Area

Your home's exterior is its armor and its first impression, and in our climate it takes a beating from sun, humidity, and storms. Palacios Construction Group handles siding, exterior trim, stone veneer, gutters, and the full range of exterior repairs and upgrades for homeowners across Conroe, Willis, the Lake Conroe area, and greater Houston. We protect the home and elevate its look at the same time, as one coordinated project rather than a patchwork of separate trades. When it is doing its job you never think about it, and when it fails it shows up as peeling paint, soft trim, and water stains inside, which is why staying ahead of it pays off.

Why Homeowners Choose Palacios

Protect the Home and Elevate Its Look.

We handle siding, trim, stone veneer, gutters, and exterior repairs as one coordinated project rather than a patchwork of separate trades.

A great exterior is about more than curb appeal. Siding, trim, caulking, and gutters are what keep water, heat, and pests out of the structure, and when any of them fail, the damage works its way inside. We install durable fiber-cement and engineered-wood siding, repair and replace exterior trim and wood rot, add stone veneer and brick accents, and make sure water is moving off and away from the house with proper gutters and weatherproofing.

We are a family company that has built in Texas since 1985, and owner Joel Palacios is involved in every project. One call reaches a real person, the estimate is free and in writing, and the work is backed by a one-year warranty. If your home's exterior is tired, damaged, or overdue for an upgrade, this is where it starts.

What a Good Exterior Actually Does

Three Things That Protect Your Home and Its Value

A home's exterior is doing two jobs at once: looking good and keeping the weather out. Three things decide whether it does both well for decades or starts letting water and damage in, and all three are worth getting right.

01

1. A weather-tight envelope

Siding, trim, caulking, and flashing form the envelope that keeps water and humidity out of the walls. When that envelope fails, even in one spot, moisture gets behind it and rots framing, grows mold, and ruins interior finishes. We build and repair the exterior as a sealed system, because the most expensive damage in a home usually starts as a small unsealed gap outside. A single failed seam can let water travel a long way before you ever see a stain, so we treat the envelope as one connected system rather than a set of separate parts.

02

2. The right materials for our climate

Not every exterior material survives our sun, humidity, and storms. Fiber-cement and engineered-wood siding resist moisture, rot, and pests far better than older materials; quality trim and sealants withstand heat, and the right finish protects against UV. We match durable, climate-appropriate materials to your home so the exterior lasts rather than fails in a few seasons. Spending a little more on materials engineered for our climate almost always costs less over the life of the home than repairing or replacing the cheap option twice.

03

3. Water moving away from the house

In a region that sees more than 50 inches of rain a year, managing water is everything. Gutters, downspouts, proper slopes, and weatherproofing keep rain off the siding and away from the foundation, which protects both the exterior and the structure underneath. Skip it, and water pools against the walls and the slab, undoing everything else you paid for. Gutters and grading are the unglamorous heroes of a dry, sound home, and they are the first thing a budget exterior job leaves out.

Our Process, Start to Finish

How a Palacios
Exterior Project Works

From the first walkthrough to the finished exterior, our process keeps the scope, the materials, and the price clear before we start.

01

Your call reaches a real person

You reach Joel or his wife directly. We learn what your exterior needs are: siding, trim, gutters, repairs, or a full refresh, and a working budget, then schedule a time to see the home.

02

On-site assessment

Joel walks the exterior, looks for failing siding, rotted trim, gaps, and drainage problems, and identifies what needs repair versus replacement. We assess the whole envelope, not just the part you noticed.

03

A clear written estimate

You receive a written estimate with no hidden fees, honored for up to three months, with the materials, repairs, and scope laid out clearly.

04

Tear-off and repair

We remove failing siding or trim, repair any wood rot or structural damage we find underneath, and prepare a sound surface. Catching hidden damage at this stage is one of the biggest advantages of doing the exterior properly.

05

Installation

We install the siding, trim, stone veneer, or gutters with proper flashing, fastening, and sealing, building the exterior back as a weather-tight system that sheds water correctly.

06

Sealing and finishing

We caulk and seal the seams and penetrations, finish the trim and details, and make sure water has a clear path off the siding and away from the foundation.

07

Final walkthrough and warranty

We clean up, walk the finished exterior with you, and make sure every detail is right. Our workmanship is backed by a one-year warranty, and your quote was honored throughout.

Exterior Pricing

How Exterior Work Is Priced

Exterior projects are priced by scope, the materials, the size of the home, and how much repair is needed underneath, so a gutter replacement and a full re-side are very different projects. Rather than publish a misleading flat rate, we give you an accurate written quote after we see the home.

Free on-site estimate

We do not charge for estimates. Joel assesses the exterior, identifies what needs repair versus replacement, and gives you a written quote at no cost and no obligation.

What drives the price

The biggest factors are the scope and the materials, full siding replacement versus targeted repair, the size and height of the home, the siding and trim materials you choose, and how much hidden wood rot or structural repair turns up once we open things up. Stone veneer, premium siding, and gutter work each add to the project, and we lay every line out clearly so you can decide what fits your budget. The condition hiding behind the old siding is the biggest unknown, which is exactly why we assess it in person rather than guessing at a price.

The Condition Underneath

The condition hiding behind the old siding is the biggest unknown, which is exactly why we assess it in person rather than guessing at a price. Stone veneer, premium siding, and gutter work each add to the project.

Why a quote beats a flat rate

Every home's exterior is different, and the condition underneath the old siding is impossible to price online. A real assessment is the only way to give you a number you can rely on, and we make that part of the free estimate.

A re-side that protects and transforms

We replace old, failing siding with durable fiber-cement or engineered-wood, tearing off the old material, repairing any wood rot underneath, and installing a fresh, weather-tight exterior. A dated, weathered house can look essentially new while performing far better in our weather than it ever did.

Local Conditions in Montgomery County

Why Exteriors Are Built Differently Around Lake Conroe

Our sun, humidity, rain, and storms all shape how a home's exterior should be built and maintained here. These are the realities we work around.

Intense sun and UV

Our relentless sun fades and degrades exterior materials, especially on south and west walls. Quality fiber-cement and engineered-wood siding and the right finishes hold their color and integrity under that UV load far longer than older or builder-grade materials, which is why material choice matters so much on an exterior here. You can often read a home's exposure just by looking at which elevation has weathered first, and we factor that into the materials and finishes we recommend.

Humidity, rot, and pests

Gulf-coast humidity feeds wood rot, mildew, and insects, all of which attack a home's exterior. Fiber-cement and engineered-wood siding resist moisture and pests far better than traditional wood, and sealing the envelope properly keeps humidity from getting behind the siding, where it does the real damage. We build with our humid climate in mind. Choosing materials that simply do not feed rot or termites takes a whole category of future repairs off the table for the homeowner.

Heavy rain and water management

With more than 50 inches of rain a year falling on expansive clay that holds water, drainage is critical. Gutters, downspouts, and proper grading keep rainwater off the siding and away from the foundation, protecting both the exterior and the slab. Poor water management is behind a huge share of the exterior and foundation problems we see. Moving roof water away from the house is one of the cheapest forms of insurance there is against expensive siding, trim, and foundation damage.

Hurricane season and storm damage

Our region has been through Beryl, Harvey, and more, and high winds and flying debris damage siding, trim, and gutters across Montgomery and north Harris counties. We repair and replace storm-damaged exteriors with stronger, better-sealed materials, and we can help coordinate the work around an insurance claim.

Expansive clay and the structure

Our Houston-Black clay moves with the seasons, and that movement can crack brick, separate trim, and stress the exterior. We repair brick, re-seal joints, and address the exterior effects of that movement, and because we also do concrete and structural work, we can deal with the cause rather than just the symptom.

Older homes and tired exteriors

Older homes in Conroe, Montgomery, and Huntsville often have aging wood siding, rotted trim, and failed caulking that let water in. Re-siding with modern materials and repairing the trim and seals brings these homes up to current durability and looks, while respecting their character.

Curb appeal and community standards

The exterior defines a home's street presence, and master-planned communities around Lake Conroe, Walden, and The Woodlands often have guidelines for siding, color, and materials. We help you choose products and finishes that lift your curb appeal and meet community standards, so the upgrade is both beautiful and approved.

In Practice

Exteriors We've Transformed and Protected

Here is how our exterior work shows up for real homeowners in our area.

New siding as part of a whole-home update

Mike M. hired us to remodel his master bath and put new siding on his home. In his words, we were easy to work with, there were no hidden costs, the work was excellent, and he is planning to use us again for future renovations. Pairing new siding with interior work is a great example of handling the whole house under one contractor. (Google review)

A re-side that protects and transforms

A common project for us is replacing old, failing siding with durable fiber-cement or engineered-wood siding. We tear off the old material, repair any wood rot or damage we find underneath, and install a fresh, weather-tight exterior that completely changes the look of the home while protecting it far better than what was there before. The transformation is dramatic: a dated, weathered house can look essentially new while performing far better in our weather than it ever did.

Gutters and exterior repair that prevent bigger problems

A representative project is adding or replacing gutters and sealing up a tired exterior. By getting water moving off the roofline and away from the foundation, and by caulking and repairing the trim and siding, we stop the slow water damage that quietly rots framing and cracks slabs. It is unglamorous work that saves homeowners from far more expensive repairs down the road.

The Expertise Behind the Work

What Sets Our Exterior Work Apart

A lasting exterior is a system of siding, trim, sealing, and drainage working together. Here is the expertise behind ours.

Fiber-cement and engineered-wood siding

We install durable fiber-cement and engineered-wood siding, the materials best suited to our heat, humidity, and pests. Fiber-cement resists rot, fire, and insects and holds paint beautifully, while engineered wood offers a warm look with modern durability. We help you choose between them and install with the correct fastening, flashing, and gaps so the siding performs for decades. Both are a major step up from older wood and hardboard siding, and they hold a finish far longer, which means fewer repaints over the life of the home.

Finding and fixing hidden damage

The real value of an exterior project often shows up once the old siding comes off. We inspect for wood rot, water damage, and structural issues hidden behind the siding and trim, and repair them before the new exterior goes on. Building over hidden damage just buries a problem that resurfaces later, so we deal with it while the wall is open. Finding and fixing that hidden damage at the right moment is far cheaper than discovering it later as a soft wall or a stain bleeding through fresh paint.

Exterior trim, fascia, and soffit

Trim, fascia, and soffit do more than finish the look; they seal the edges of the roof and walls and keep water and pests out. We replace rotted and failing trim with durable materials and detail it correctly, because these edges are where a lot of exterior failures and pest entry actually begin.

Stone veneer and brick

Stone-veneer accents and brick details can transform a facade, adding texture and a high-end look to an entry, a column, or a whole elevation. We install stone veneer over a properly prepared, moisture-managed substrate, and we repair and tuckpoint brick that our shifting clay has cracked, so the result is both beautiful and sound. A stone-wrapped column or wainscot can make a builder-grade elevation look custom, and it is one of the highest-impact exterior upgrades for the money.

Gutters and water management

Gutters are easy to overlook and costly to skip. We install and replace gutters and downspouts and add guards, sizing and sloping them to handle our heavy rain and routing the water well away from the foundation. Combined with proper grading, good gutters protect the siding, the trim, and the slab all at once. A home without working gutters effectively dumps its entire roof of rainwater right at the foundation, which is exactly where you least want it in our clay-soil region.

Caulking, sealing, and weatherproofing

The difference between an exterior that lasts and one that leaks is often in the sealant. We caulk and seal seams, joints, and penetrations, and weatherproof the envelope to keep wind-driven rain and humidity outside. It is detailed, careful work, and it is where rushed crews cut corners that leaks occur.

One contractor for the whole exterior

Because we handle siding, trim, masonry, gutters, concrete, and structural work, we can address a home's exterior as a complete system rather than a series of disconnected fixes. That means the siding, the drainage, and the repairs all work together, and you deal with one accountable contractor instead of coordinating several. That breadth also means that when one trade uncovers a problem that belongs to another, it gets handled on the spot instead of stalling the job while you line up someone new.
